Brush & Bulky VII

Dare I say, undefeated.

You may be wondering, how, coming into a 4th year and 7 Brush and Bulky events later - how do we keep winning? The answer is - well I don't know really. I could get into a heartfelt speech about perseverance and teamwork, I mean technically it applies.  But more than anything I think it's because we have a back yard like a park.

This year it was our Tombstone Roses. Giant, fragrant, beautiful shrubs weaved in and out of the lattice surrounding the back porch. We've got two, one on either side. The one on the right looked like this:
Which was a problem because the one on the other side - it's still green.
We figured the best course of action would be to chop it back
(way back!) and see if it comes back in the spring

We borrowed a saws-all from a neighbor, and had a helping hand from an old friend I hadn't seen in years! (Brush and Bulky, bringin' folks together!)  Then we tore that rosebush down.
Down, down down.

That's a whole lot of no more rosebush.

You might think taking down a massive Tombstone Rose bush might be what made us the winner this year

But no. There's more.

Oleanders. Oleanders that have been neglected for at least 3 rounds of Brush & Bulk.
Here's the view of our haul from the front door:

Which leads us to a full on view of our massive haul that cinched our title of 2014's 1st-of-the-year
Brush & Bulky Pickup champions.

Oh come on, you knew that was coming.

See you guys next week!
