TV is good for you

Don't believe me? Here, let Space Ghost tell you all about it
Over here at the Boswell House, we love TV. Netflix, prime time, re-runs, the whole lot. I figured, what better way to commemorate our love of Television than a blog post? Of course this will require some kind of organization right? Right. So I took each day of the week, added something we'd normally watch, and then celebrated our stories with another of our favorite things ... food. (Admit it, you knew that was coming)

It all starts on Sunday - Sunday is Downton Abbey day. (Yes, we're the very small percentage of people who waited for the US airing of Season 4 and didn't look up any spoilers even though we know they're out there - so can it! Please and thank you ^_^)  Although it was a pretty average Sunday full of chores, it's not very hard to spin it to be Downtoney. For example: Mrs. Padmore in the kitchen. Since we were excited for the show to come on, we figured we'd make a tasty Downton-themed edible. It all started with a delicious cucumber "sandwich" that I found on Pinterest
All these are is some Boursain cheese pushed through a cake decorating kit to make them pretty
Fancy, no?
But what made it really Downton-esque was that at the same time I made up these little sandwiches,
I was making salads for the week and cooking up that night's diner.
Planning ahead, Mrs. Padmore style.

Cooking in multiple pans at once - does it get any more Padmore than that?!
(IT DOES!)
Bacon for the week (Salads, breakfasts, and a couple of strips for that dinner we were making) That is Padmore style and we saved the bacon grease for future kitchen escapades.

If saving parts of one food to use for future food isn't a Mrs. Padmore activity, then I don't know what is.

Downton Day doesn't stop in the kitchen, we also had the house to tend to
The Laundry (so, it's just a photo of an iron, but I can assure you it ironed multiple loads of clothing that day)

A freshly made bed:

And then sitting down to a fancy dinner
zucchini bolognese ~ ooh la la!

Next new TV show on the list: Pretty Little Liars.
Oh yes folks, I'm hooked. Every Tuesday the Liars get together and go on these spooky mini-adventures. My favorite part about this show, is how it's like a short horror flick with a continuing story once a week! Its great! Bonus - it's a summer season show, so there's new ones on that are all thriller-ey during monsoon season. That's thunderstorms and creepy stuff on TV! Maybe that doesn't excite you as much as it does me, but I digress. On Tuesday we celebrated PLL with a casserole.
This actually incorporates two shows. Because I snagged this recipe from The Chew
which is a daily show I watch on my lunch breaks at work almost every single day!

I decided to give this dish the honorary title of
CAuliflower SAusAge CAsserole

Hahahaha! wipes a laughter tear, ~happy sigh~
If you're a PLL fan, you get it. If you don't get it, consider becoming a
PLL fan because I assure you, it's loads and loads of fun.
I also tried to pay tribute to PLL using fashion and painting my nails - it was a good idea except my camera hated it. For example it took me about 9,000 tries to get the focus right on this picture
Then I set everything up to follow along with this tutorial I just so happened to find on Pinterest
(... wait... is this a TV themed post or is this a Pinterest themed post?)
So I set all of my supplies to follow these instructions:
And - it worked! It's really cool - except my camera did not like the idea of photographing my hand ....
That was photo attempt #8,742. Before I just gave up.
It looks like you're just going to have to take my word for this one.

But the show was great and that casserole was delicious so if you'd like to make one yourself you can find the recipe here: http://abc.go.com/shows/the-chew/recipes/cauliflower-sausage-casserole-michael-symon

Wednesday's are a fun night because Wednesday's is Super Fun Night
The story(ies) of 3 room mates and their quest to live it up. It's written by Rebel Wilson and Conan O'Brien is the executive producer - why aren't you watching this show?!

How better to pay tribute to Super Fun Night than a couple of cocktails?
I wanted to come up with something fizzy and call it a Bubbly Boubier (because Kimmie Boubier is the main character) But the best I did was snag a shot of Dylan making himself and a buddy a couple of Manhattans.
But it was a fine opportunity to get some shots of our neat license plate decanter, and my camera redeemed itself from the "I ain't takin' no pics a yo' hand" incident. So, win win. And this really was on Wednesday night and we really did all sit down to an excellent episode of SFN.

In order of frequency:
1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
2. Dexter
3. Lilyhammer
4. Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23

How to represent our netflixing through food ... hm.... ooh! I know!
