Remember back, way back, many moons ago when I used to blog? What wondrous, joy filled memories. Like sitting down with a cup of Joe on a rainy afternoon and going through a scrapbook full of blog posts. Posts updated not semi-monthly, but weekly! Dependably! What a beautiful trip down memory lane!
Regular posts at The Boswell House seem as fleeting advertisements from the 90's
It looks as though my last post was June 3rd. You may be asking "What's been going on at the Boswell House for the last 44 days?" Or you may be saying "It's been over a month, woman! I couldn't care less!" Both of these are valid and expected responses. Since I'm here, actually blogging, I'll answer what we've been up to. If you gave up long ago, no hard feelings.
First up: Our quasi home gym!
We finally dusted off our sweet $100 Craigslisted treadmill and moved the bike over from the master bedroom. There's also weights and yoga mats, should the mood strike. Now, I'll give you that the room itself is a bit of a mess. I tried to deflect you away from parts that not supposed to be looked at - but it's hard not to. The reason why we have a ton of clothes strewn about (Note: not ON the treadmill) is because we also repainted are repainting the dresser!
Okay, so the very top still needs it's final coat, and then we need to reinstall the hardware, and then we need to put it back in the bedroom and refill it - but we're this far so far right??
Bonus activity? Monsoons Baby!!
(I google searched these images, do not give me credit for them!)
Of course, with the lovely scents and beautiful storms comes the inevitable yearly destruction around town
Lest we forget the Haboobs!
Part of that destruction happens yearly in our own back yard by way of the fence.
Here's what we've replaced so far:
(Fifi is the original Fifi)
We've got a game plan for the rest of it, but that's the same slow-going plan we've always had. With enough monsoon seasons, hey, we may get that fence finished yet!
Another thing we've been up to: Grillin'
Clearing out the rest of our sad, dead Tombstone Rosebush, may she rest in peace.
Then, of course, making plans for the biannual Brush and Bulky pickup.
We're not exactly sure why, but a lot of stuff in the back yard up and croaked this year (including that Tombstone Rosebush) The rest of the affected parties that will need to be cleared:
Except that one on the left, it's still barely clinging to life, so we're going to leave it be and see what happens
But this guy, gone:
And while the lantana is still alive and happy, it sheds a skin every winter that needs to be dealt with.
We'll be tackling that thicket as well:
Which brings us to one of our favorite activities
A mere four + years after it's series finale - we're hooked.
I'm watching the 2nd to last season as I type this so ya'll better shut your craw with the spoilers, m'kay?!
Next up: Attack on Titan
100% NOT MY ARTWORK. I googled for this too, and the reason I chose this image in particular is that it's pretty tame. I'm going to worn you right now - Attack on Titan is an animated horror story! Legit, trouble sleeping followed by nightmares of being chased - HORROR. It also happens to be super addictive.
I warned you.
We also polished off the 2nd season of Orange is the new Black (along with the rest of America)
(Stolen from deviantart.com)
In summation:
If it looks like crappy chicken scratches - I drew it.
If it's a bad ass, beautiful cartoon - I stole it from the internet.
See you guys next time ... I say one of you starts a pool for when the next post will be.
