La Producción en la casa Boswell

That's "production at the Boswell house" in Spanish (at least according to Google.)
There's only so many ways to say "holy crap! We were productive!" in a blog title, you know? But that does not take away from the satisfaction of it all. So much satisfaction in fact, I can't wait to show it off!
First up, making laundry easier!

Having a handy husband made this addition both fun and simple.

We figured whereabouts we wanted the cabinet to hang, then broke out the ruler and pencil

The cabinet itself and the wall we wanted to hang it on both needed pilot holes,
to do this Dylan used some paper to make a mirror image. Lucky for us,
we just so happen to have these large rolls of paper laying around.
I can't tell you how many times this stuff has come in handy.
Moving on!

With everything was lined up, it's time for the pilot holes.

In attempts to make life easier, we started the screws before the cabinet went up on the wall

After a couple of mishaps, and a little finagling - we got it!
It may be empty in this photo, but I can promise you it's full today!

Our next accomplishment - grocery day! Now, grocery day is important and plenty productive.
We need food to live, seeking out great deals is key - but most important - it offers up
these adorable photo ops of the kitties.

Let's not forget about the power of cute our Sherman possesses, too.

Later that day little Peggy, in all of her kitten glory, discovered a stash of packing peanuts in the garage.
She dragged them out, one by one, and exploded them all over the dining room.
This picture doesn't do it justice. This was after we cleaned up 10 or so more of that peanut's Styrofoam brothers, only to have this happen. It's when we decided it was time to find the source of the peanuts, and eliminate them.

Turns out Peggy had found a box full of packing peanuts and proceeded to flip that box over.
This brings us to a big moment: The Maiden Voyage of our Leaf Blower

Hee hee hee.

Last but not least, adventures in baking! We had some friends coming over on Sunday and I wanted to offer up some brunch-like snacks. Coffee cake came to mind, but rather than purchase a super processed full of sugar variety - I googled for coconut flour coffee cake. I found 2 promising recipes, and sort of combined them. To make the actual loaf, I followed this recipe:
It was awesome!
The recipe calls for you to separate your eggs, whip up the whites and cream the yolks. I have never, ever done this before. Never, not in my life! But I actually succeeded!
To whip those whites to stiff peaks I used the whisk attachment on my handy dandy immersion blender. I didn't get a photo of my creamed yolks, but I used a regular whisk. It was easy! Then, you slowly mix your creamed yolks into your whipped whites and you get a batter that looks like this:
I prepped it to bake in a loaf pan, and made the topping following this recipe: http://paleoonmain.blogspot.com/2011/08/cinnamon-pecan-coffee-cake.html

I'll admit - I was worried. In my experience, baking with coconut flour means nothing rises.
So I thought it would come out of the pan just as thin and dense as when it went in.
I was wrong! It rose!! I think it was the whole process with the eggs!
Coconut flour is so rich, buttery and delicious. This makes one awesome coffee cake!

You would think at this point we've been productive enough to justify today's title. But - there's still more!
Even with all of this, we managed to take a day and defrost the ol' garage freezer.
Peggy found melting/falling ice absolutely fascinating and stayed out there until we were done defrosting.
How stinkin' cute is that?
