Halloween?! Halloween?! Did somebody say Halloween?!

~*~*It's the most wonderful time of the year!~*~*
That's right ghouls and boys! The Holidays begins with Halloween!

There is no better, or more proper, way to ring on the official beginning of the holiday season than

Oh yes!
This year, I had a spool of adorable spider ribbon, so I went with it.
First, the curtains where tying them with ribbon actually makes sense
It's so wonderfully spooky!

I still had a little ribbon left, and wasn't quite sure what to do with it. While I mulled that over, I moved onto the bedroom. This year, I decided I wanted to have a little decorating happening in there as well. Now, who wouldn't love a gorgeous bat print bedspread or jack-o-lantern sheets, but for some reason ... these things only come in twin size. Jerks.

What I did find were these cute little Halloween doilies. I thought laying the over them lamps would be a nice touch. We have bats and spiders!

Then it hit me! Wrap that dang lamp with the rest of the ribbon! Even more Halloweeney!
I love it!

Alright now, it doesn't stop with the commercially available Halloween decor, oh no. Here at the Boswell House, we dive deeper. What do you do when you need a 10 foot long piece of fencing put up, and you only have 8 foot long pieces of wood?

Darn right!

Boom. Ready for slats!

And now we have a glorious new chunk of fence!
Okay, really it's DONE now but it's night time and I don't have any more photos, so you're just going to have to use your imagination on this one. Imaginations can also be very spooky, so you're being rather festive. You should be proud of yourself.

Next up we have the dreaded, the horrifying, the insane!
DUN DUN DUUUNNN!!!!

She sneaks into your furniture! Slinking, unnoticed ..

Until WHAMO! She hits you with the power of her cute.

And you never even saw it coming!

Also, my sweet little Peggy - I mean the dreaded and horrifying Spazmodicus offers up a brilliant segue to showing off our fancy new furniture. After all, we've still got the turkey-centric holiday to prepare for.
Ain't she lovely?! We still need to fill it up and actually USE it but - it's so freaking pretty! Not  exactly scary though ... so back to the spookfest!!

Since this year, our Halloween decorations will need to accommodate the house being painted, we couldn't have anything attach to the actual house. Not a problem in the slightest!

We set up Mr. Bones lounging on a lawn chair with his trusty new companion, Bone Doggy.

Some day very, very soon - we'll use some orange lights to create their little camp fire. Until then, here's my artistic vision:

How cute is the stump?!

Hooray for Halloween!!

I leave you with one last awesome spooktacular feat: pareidolia.
That's what it's called when you see faces in things. Turns out, it has something to do with evolution and recognizing things to run away from, our brains over-prepped so we'd run from any/everything (higher odds, right?) and now, we recognize faces and facial features in inanimate objects. That is actually a little eerie...

Look who we found in our pickle jar though:
He looks more happy than frightening ... maybe from this angle?
Hah! Nope. Still cute.

Alright my haunted friends, I hope you've enjoyed this little taste of All Hallow's Eve. I also hope I'm up and blogging about many more spooktacular feats before October comes to an end!
See you then!
