The Elusive Kitchen Sink (Okay, and the shower, too)

Ya'll remember where we left off right? With the kitchen counter torn apart and the master bath ... well, nothing happened there. But! Since our last post we've managed to make some real progress! I can't say we're finished with either of them but ... progress is still good!

We successfully removed the old faucet AND installed the new one!
Isn't it lovely?

So at least we have a functioning kitchen, and thus can actually use the kitchen. We did have to rearrange some things, I set the dish drainer over to the right and lined it with plenty of towels to keep that pesky water in check this time.
Of course that meant the cutting board also had to move, so I relocated it across the way
Okay, now we have  functioning kitchen again.

Then the weekend came, and we could get down to some hard work.
We painted all of our damaged counter with the mildew resistant paint
Doesn't that look worlds better?!

Next up, sizing up the tiles to get a perfect fit

Then it was time to slather up the backs of the tile with adhesive. Thanks to our shower project, we had plenty of adhesive available.
Plenty
Whooo hooo the tiles are in place!!! One thing left to do though:
We still don't have any grout ... but it's still progress!!
The best part is that we took the momentum from all those tiles and actually kept going!
~bathroom tiles~
Yep! We finished the border along the window!
AND
We put up the border tiles all along the sides
AND
One of the wonky bottom tiles
AND! ... then we ran out of border tiles. We literally need 6 more, hahah!
But we're so much closer, and I love that!

You guys remember I was also pet-sitting, right? Well I am a genius. You see, the set up with these dogs was to go see them in the a.m. then for dinner, then at bedtime. Dinner and bedtime was easy. I went to the house after work in a change of clothes and stayed for a few hours. But, the mornings were a bit of a challenge. Not only did I have to leave early enough to take care of dog duties, then get to work on time - I had to be ready for work. So, how do you protect work garments from crazy dogs?
Apron.
Boom.
It took me until Thursday to figure out what I really needed was the apron and a jacket, but live and learn. The apron alone was a great help.

We've got a lot left do do around here. I promise I'll keep you posted the whole way!
